Your privacy,
protected by design.
Privacy isn't a setting at KT Messenger — it's the foundation of everything we build. We can't read your messages or listen to your calls, and neither can anyone else.
Our core privacy principles
The promises that shape every product decision we make.
End-to-end encrypted
Every message, call, photo and file is encrypted by default. We never hold the keys to your conversations.
Zero data logging
We don't keep logs of who you message or call. Your communication map belongs to you alone.
No message storage
Delivered messages are removed from our servers. Undelivered ones are kept encrypted for up to 30 days, then discarded.
No ads, ever
We don't sell ads, so we have no reason to harvest your data. You're the customer — never the product.
Information we collect
To run our core service we need very little. We use your phone number to create your account, and access to your address book to find contacts already on KT Messenger. That's it — no browsing history, no behavioural profiles.
Information we do NOT collect
- We do not record the contents of your messages.
- We do not listen to or record your voice or video calls.
- We do not continuously track your location.
- We do not share your contact list with third-party advertisers.
How we protect your data
All personal communication is secured with end-to-end encryption, so it can only be read on your device and your recipient's device — not on our servers, and not by us. Encryption is always on; there is nothing to switch on and no way to turn it off.
Data retention
If you delete your account, your profile, chat history and group lists are permanently erased. Because we don't store your messages on our servers, there is no central database of your conversations to retain.
Your rights & choices
You stay in control. You can review and update your profile, manage which permissions the app has, and delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
