Post a status update

Status updates are photos, videos or text that disappear after 24 hours. They live in the Status tab, separate from your chats.

Post one

1. Open the Status tab and choose Add to my status.
2. Pick a photo or video, or write a text update and choose its background colour.
3. Add a caption if you want, then post.

Who sees it

By default, your contacts. Change that under Status privacy — share with everyone, exclude specific people, or share with only a chosen few.

After posting

• Open your own status to see who viewed it.
• Delete an update at any time; it disappears for everyone.
