Edit or delete a message

Sent the wrong thing? You have two ways to fix it.

Edit

Open a message you sent and choose Edit. The corrected text replaces the original for everyone, marked as edited so the conversation stays honest. Editing is available for a limited window after sending.

Delete

• Delete for everyone removes the message from the chat for all participants and leaves a note that a message was deleted.
• Delete for me removes it from your device only — everyone else still sees it.

Clear a whole chat

From the chat's ⋮ menu, Clear chat empties the conversation for you while keeping the chat in your list.
