Use disappearing messages

Disappearing messages automatically delete themselves from both sides of a chat after a set time — handy for sensitive or short‑lived conversations.

Turn it on for a chat

1. Open the chat and tap the contact or group name.
2. Tap Disappearing Messages and choose a timer (for example 24 hours, 7 days, or 90 days).

How it behaves

• The timer starts when a message is sent, and it disappears for everyone once it elapses.
• In groups, any admin can set the timer.
• Remember: someone could still screenshot or photograph a message before it disappears, so only share what you're comfortable with.
