Introducing End-to-End Encrypted Backups

At KT Messenger, your privacy is our top priority. Today, we're excited to announce the rollout of end-to-end encrypted backups for both iOS and Android.

While your messages have always been protected, your backups stored in the cloud were previously subject to the security policies of the cloud provider. With this update, you can now add an extra layer of protection to your chat history.

How it works

When you enable encrypted backups, your chat history is encrypted with a unique key that only you possess. You can choose to protect this key with a 64-digit encryption key or a password of your choice.

Neither KT Messenger nor your cloud provider will be able to read your backups or access your key.
